    1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Fidelis Books Ltd (company number 16622540) uses cookies and similar technologies on fidelisbooks.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal data.

    2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, and scripts stored locally in your browser. They allow a website to remember things about your visit, such as your preferences, or allow us to understand how the website is used.

    3. The rules that apply

Cookies are regulated in the UK under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), alongside the UK GDPR wherever personal data is involved. Following the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, from 5 February 2026 certain cookies used purely for first party statistical analysis, or to remember basic display preferences, no longer require consent, provided they are used strictly for that purpose and the information is not shared with a third party for its own purposes. Cookies used for advertising, cross site tracking, or profiling still require consent.

PECR penalties are now aligned with the UK GDPR, meaning breaches can attract fines of up to £17.5 million or 4% of annual worldwide turnover. We keep our use of cookies under regular review as a result.

    4. Our current position

At launch, fidelisbooks.co.uk does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind. The website is a static, brochure style site and does not require visitors to log in.

The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary ones needed to keep the website secure or to allow a form submission to work. These do not require your consent, and there is currently nothing for you to opt into or out of.

Because we do not currently set any non essential cookies, we have not built a cookie banner or preference centre into the site. If that changes, for example if we add website analytics, a booking tool, or spam protection on our contact form that sets its own cookies, we will update this policy first and add a way for you to give or withdraw consent before those cookies are set.

    • Security and form handling cookies: keep the website secure and, if used, allow a contact form submission to be processed. Strictly necessary. Session only. No consent needed.
    • We do not use analytics, advertising, or third party tracking cookies.

    5. If this changes

If we introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, this section will describe how to manage your preferences, for example through a banner shown on your first visit and a settings link in the footer that lets you change your choice at any time.

You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may mean parts of the website do not work as intended.

    6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in the technology we use. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
