HMRC's Making Tax Digital rollout
Quarterly digital filing is being phased in by income threshold. Here is what is live now and what is coming.
April 2026 — Income over £50,000
Quarterly filing is now mandatory. If this is you, you need to act immediately.
April 2027 — Income over £30,000
The threshold drops in the months ahead. Get set up now before the deadline hits.
April 2028 — Income over £20,000
Further expansion is expected. MTD will eventually cover most self employed income.
